If you live in the Northern hemisphere, I challenge you to turn your heating down by at least two degrees Celsius (or 3.6°F) and instead wear a sweater (a real one). At night, turn the heating all the way down. I promise you, you will sleep better in a cool room. Lowering the temperature in your winter room by just 1°C will save you 300kg CO2 per year (assuming you live in a “developed country” style home with the kind of insulation that can be expected from such a home at this day and age). 300kg CO2 is about as much as a middle-sized, middle-aged, petrol (gasoline) drinking car would emit on a 840km (520mi) drive.
If you live in the southern hemisphere, I challenge you to exchange long but flowy, non-synthetic clothing for air conditioning.
No matter where you are, I challenge you to turn off any heating or cooling & close all windows (and curtains if its hot) when no-one is in the house. If you have an automated heating system, you can adjust it to your working hours.
