You already might be a pro sustainable take-away-hot-bevarage-drinker by now, but what about everything else?
This month I challenge you to refuse all SINGLE USE forks, spoons, knives, chop sticks, straws and water bottles.
Instead, have a look for easy, pop-in-your-bag alternatives that you can carry with you and whip out whenever you need them (long-term-borrowing cutlery from the cafeteria/office also works for those on a budget).
Zero waste is a thing now (thank you Hipsters!) and there’s awesome stuff being sold now. Sporks, wooden cutlery, personalized chop sticks, straws made of glass or metal, including a tiny pipe cleaner, and crazy collapsible cutlery and and lunch boxes.
Bag your fork, knife, spoon and chopsticks, pack a clean lunchbox!
And don’t be tricked by recyclable plastics! Its still single use and wasteful and most of the time only partially recyclable, yet treated as if 100% organic material. That’s worse than throwing a plastic spoon away correctly!
